Jo-Anne Blanco was born in Brazil to an English mother and Spanish father. She spent her childhood in England and her teenage years in Barcelona. She was educated at the University of Edinburgh, graduating with an MA in modern languages, and at the University of Glasgow, where she was awarded a postgraduate MPhil in film and media studies.
Jo-Anne has spent much of her adult life travelling around the world as an English teacher and university tutor. Her lifelong passion for reading, writing and storytelling inspired her to embark upon her epic Fata Morgana series, about the life and adventures of Morgan le Fay. Mythology, folklore, fairy tales, science fiction, religion and philosophy are all major influences on her writing.
