BIO: I chose the name Treebeard because I think he is one of the most beautiful characters in the Lord of the Rings series. I visited an ancient yew forest near Salisbury and phoned my best friend to say "I've found where Treebeard and the other ents live!". That's how real he is to me. I've always read, always reviewed books (mainly for myself) but now having set up Breakaway Reviewers I can now get to read some extraordinary books and meet some new very talented authors AND get the privilege to review their books! When not reading, I like to Nordic walk, having found some fantastic places all over the UK to take my sticks and as I wander along the paths, finding birds, butterflies and wild flowers.

Favourite Genre: Crime, Thriller, Mystery
Recently retired and filling time by cooking, gardening, cycling, golf and reading.
Having enjoyed a career in general management and sales, which allowed me to visit many fascinating parts of the world, I now prefer to avoid airports and drive to my destination – preferably a sunny one. I look forward to reading and reviewing a wealth of different books for Breakaway Reviewers.

I have always had a love of reading, and I consider myself very fortunate to have been asked by Breakaway Reviewers to write these reviews. I look forward to meeting many new authors in print..
In between reading, my other hobbies are gardening, Chinese cooking, playing golf and table tennis.
I chose the name Sméagol because to me, Sméagol (or Gollum from The Lord of The Rings as he is more popularly known), is a much maligned and misunderstood character, and I can therefore relate to him!
Peter van Aanroy - aka Mr Bumblebee
Based close to the South Coast of England for the past 24 years, I have recently retired from a career ranging from Foreign Exchange Management (the euro killed that one off) to Air Traffic Control administration.
I now travel to Historic Houses and Gardens, cook, visit the theatre, listen to music and read as much as possible. I volunteer in a large second-hand charity bookshop once a week.
I have belonged to a gym, but now find walking and line dancing to be far more enjoyable forms of exercise.
